The company blog features articles written by members of the communications team in cooperation with experts in the field. I wrote almost weekly blog posts about everything from charitable contributions and community involvement to scientific innovation and polarizing refutes of misinformation.
Internal and External Communications
Monsanto Europe has an extensive network for internal communication, involving members of the research and human resources departments. The public relations efforts are mostly press releases, which are distributed by BusinessWire. My office was recognized as one of the Top 25 Best Workplaces in Europe by the Great Place to Work Institute, and I had the opportunity to write the release that announced this honor. Read it here.
Monsanto Europe's owned media accounts include Twitter, YouTube and Google+, all of which I helped maintain. I wrote posts, created graphics, monitored engagement and evaluated analytics reports. In my time there, I also pitched an initiative to start a company Instagram, which has since been activated.
I was the sole creator and monitor of a constantly updating fact sheet that disputed misinformation about a chemical in Monsanto's pesticides. I chronologically organized public statements, accredited all research and published the page in six languages to reach Monsanto Europe's diverse, international audience. I also had the opportunity to represent Monsanto at the European Food Information Council's 20 Years Stakeholders Conference – attended by companies such as Nestlé, PepsiCo, Coca Cola and Ghirardelli.
